I met Cheryl Brickey through the Greenville Modern Quilt Guild. At one of the meetings, she asked for volunteers to help her make quilts for her new book. Since I love helping others and have a problem saying no–I jumped right in to help her. The quilt I made used her pattern One-Eyed Monster and is pictured in her book, Just One Charm Pack Quilts. I had a blast making it and was excited to see my name in print! Of course, when she asked for help on her second book, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. Her second book is Just Two Charm Pack Quilts and the quilt I made is String Lights. I’ve also had the privilege of making the quilt for the cover of one of her newest patterns, Windmill. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Cheryl. Her patterns are simple to follow, and I love the modern style of her designs. Besides our shared love of quilting, I think another reason we hit it off so well is we think alike–we’re both chemical engineers.
Cheryl’s business is Meadow Mist Designs. In addition to her books, she has a variety of patterns–available as downloads and/or printed patterns. Check out her blog and learn how you can participate in her mystery quilt and quilt alongs. It’s amazing to see the posts of everyone’s quilts on her Facebook page.
When Cheryl is not working, or involved with her children’s activities, or relaxing with her cats, you’ll find her lecturing and teaching classes at various guilds and quilt shows.
